• 03/10/16: On the first generation DCCP, the Manager Control, User Control and Temp sensor were all supplied with 50’ cables, where the ends were “Male – Female”. If someone needed a longer run, Steamist did not offer extensions but rather 100’ “Male – Female” cables.

The problem it created in the field was that the installers would need to make sure they routed the cables properly, keeping the orientation for the cable end proper to component.

In 2013, the DCCP system was redesigned where the circuit board inside the steam generator changed and so did the cable ends to be “Male – Male”. This change made it easier for the installers, so that they no longer needed to worry about cable orientation during installs.

Therefore, currently, new HC models are sold with all 3 cables having “Male – Male” ends and have the following Part #’s:

• 007-1434 – Manager control cable, 50’, M-M
• 007-1435 – User control cable, 50’, M-M
• 007-1436 – Sensor cable, 50’, M-M

Since the manager control is generally mounted next to the steam generator, people do not require to extend the cable to it, therefore the factory does not order longer cables.

If someone needs a longer User control or Sensor cable, we offer them in 100’ lengths:

• 007-1438 – User control cable, 100’, M-M
• 007-1439 – Sensor cable, 100’, M-M

At this time, since people are not installing 3 year old HC generators with old M-F cables, once they run out, we no longer offer them.

The factory is still contemplating on offering (bringing back) 50’ extensions for the User control and Sensor cables, which would need to be M-F, to mate with the new M-M cables.
